Many of my friends asked me how I use my laptop's wifi as an access point for iPhone and other wifi enabled devices. So I have written a small guide for all of them here. Before doing anything please make sure that you are connected to the internet and drivers for your wifi card are installed and ready to use.
Okay here we go:
1. First open the Network Connections, by right clicking on a network connection icon and selecting "Open Network Connections"
2. Right click on your internet connection (LAN, Modem, etc) and click Properties.
3. Click on Advanced tab, then tick on "Allow other network..." and click OK.
4. Right click on your wifi connection and click Properties.
5. Open the Wireless Networks tab and click Add in Preferred Networks frame.
6. Setup according to the picture below, you might like to write something else in place of "asad"
7. In Wifi Connection Properties window, click Advanced.
8. Tick the "Any available network" option and click Close.
9. Click OK on the Wifi Connection Properties window.
That's it, search for wifi network from your iPhone or any other device (PDA, Smartphones, Laptops) and connect.

Google Latitude is bad for liars
Google is so much into collecting all types of data and providing it to the public. That's a good thing, but things get bad sometimes.
Once again, the folks at Google have just announced a new tool called Google Latitude. It uses GPS and/or Cell Towers to allow you to track your friends’ locations – and could be used for nefarious purposes by stalkers and crazy exes.
From the Google RSS feed:
With Google Latitude, a new feature on Google Maps for mobile and a gadget for iGoogle coming out today, we’re kind of turning that idea on its head, making the “where” matter again. Latitude allows you to see where your friends are located in real time on a map, anywhere in the world.
I have been using Latitude on my Windows Mobile for a while now(as I don't have to lie to someone :P), and I must say, it is a great tool to keep your friends and family updated with your current location. A good tool for worried mums I guess. Too bad my mum doesn't know how to boot into Windows.
It is a great piece of software, but can be lethal ;)
Anyways, A little something I made in Farigh time...

Farigh as in meaning 'in free time'
Hello everyone! I am Asad Memon, a student from Hyderabad, Pakistan. I am a seriously-lazy type of a person. So I had to be blogger (no offense bloggers) :P. I will not be so frequent in posting new posts and will post only when I feel like or if I am not lazy enough.
I am a casual blogger and may not provide you with accurate information. Other than that, I am no English teacher and english isn't my native language either, so I am not responsible if I make some Grammer Nazi wet his pants.
I named this blog 'Farigh' as it is going to be my free time activity.
